Carter House Hotel Accommodations
Here at Carter House Inns, we provide lavish accommodations throughout our four Victorian buildings located in Eureka, California. These include the Hotel Carter, the Carter House, the Carter Cottage and the Bell Cottage.
Each building has a unique style, pairing rich Victorian architecture with contemporary furnishings and local art. In each of our 33 rooms, we provide guests with all standard amenities including flat-screen TVs to enjoy local cable listings, complimentary wireless Internet, and convenient Keurig coffeemakers.
All of our reservations include a complimentary glass of wine in the evenings as well as breakfast in the mornings.

Located cornerwise to our Hotel Carter is our flagship building, the Carter House. This architectural wonder was constructed in the early 1980’s as a replica of the San Francisco Murphy House by our owner, Mark Carter.
Grand Suites
The Grand Suites at Hotel Carter feature soothing, in-room whirlpool spa tubs situated within a view of the Victorian neighborhood, magnificent fireplaces, and double-headed luxury walk-in showers. Chill sparkling wine or snacks in our mini-refrigerator. Enjoy the cozy bed while you stretch out in front of the flat-screen TV and watch a DVD. Complimentary high-speed wireless internet is at your disposal.
Had an amazing stay this past weekend. Stayed in the Grand Room on the 3rd floor, room 304 and it was so great. The whole place feels familiar and welcoming. The room was clean and was fully stocked with all we needed. The room had a gas fireplace which was very simple to use. The room had a huge whirlpool in the middle of the room which we used every evening.
This is the best place to relax, reconnect and find peace. That's what my husband and I did. In the evening we sat downstairs and played rummy and drank wine. There is no place i would stay when visiting this area. What a great getaway retreat inn. the staff was exceptional who went above and beyond for all their guests.

Jr. Suites
The luxurious hotel suites at Hotel Carter feature large, relaxing beds, fireplaces and whirlpool spa tubs to relax and warm-up your evening. Settle down in front of a flat screen TV.
You can sink into the warm tub with a glass of champagne to enjoy an escape from life’s stress. However, High Speed internet is available just in case you want to stay in touch. Enjoy your relaxing get-away at Hotel Carter!
We stayed there for 2 nights for my job interview and from the beginning, it felt cozy and charming. The staff were very nice and professional and seemed they would do anything to make us happy. Our room felt kind of cold at first but it was because we never used that kind of heating system in Texas. We gave the room some time and it felt like a sauna afterward. The front desk staff was more than happy to provide us with a different room if the heating didn’t work which we never needed.
The breakfast was really delicious and was actually freshly made. The lobby and the bar areas are charming with firewood providing warmth. It is a good place to have a late drink or a hot beverage.
Would recommend anyone to stay there it is definitely worth your money and the location was great.

King Rooms
With all of the same amenities that you find in our Grand Suites, our King Bed guest rooms are just a tiny bit smaller. You will find a large flat-panel TV with DVD along with our high-speed wifi.
Guests love to lounge on their beds before they head out for the night on the town at one of the many fine restaurants in Eureka. Choose this room style for comfort and luxury.
Sending out props to Carter House Inn! This is the only place I stay when I am in town! Their service, rooms, dining, and all the little things from a complimentary breakfast that is always amazing to a glass of wine when you walk through the door at the end of your long day! Fuzzy robes, amazing linens & towels... I could go on & on!

Really Nice Rooms
Our really nice hotel-style rooms offer flat-screen TVs for your entertainment. Select rooms feature fireplaces for your warmth and relaxation. Rejuvenating jetted tubs are offered in certain rooms as well.
Coffee makers are provided featuring fresh coffee free of charge. We offer complimentary high-speed internet and local telephone calls for your convenience.
I have stayed at the Carter House Inn in Eureka about once a month over the past 18 months. The classic Victorian building is beautifully decorated and a short walk to the center of old town Eureka. The rooms are well-appointed and several have fireplaces and nice bathtubs. The towels are luxurious.
The bar is always full of locals and others interested in a good drink and good conversation. The staff is welcoming and professional. I highly recommend you stay here!

Dog Friendly Lodging in Eureka
Here at the Carter House Inns, we know that your dogs are family too. That’s why we offer an array of dog friendly accommodations, including two dog friendly Grand Suites.
If you will be traveling with a dog, please simply give us a call when making your booking in order to assure that you will be placed into one of our dog friendly rooms. Booking direct ensures you the peace of mind that you and your furry loved ones will have the best accommodations on the Redwood Coast.
There is a once per stay fee of $30 plus tax that will be added to your room charge. We look forward to hosting you and your furry companion too!
