The Godwit Days April 16th – 22nd is a fun filled festival that features a variety of activities. Birders come from all around to attend many exciting workshops and take birding field trips. Activities at the Godwit Days include: fascinating and educational lectures by acclaimed authors and naturalists, birding trips to view species in their natural habitats, kayaking trips and boat excursions, and many more.
Humboldt County is home and passage to an exotic array of fowl. Every year birders flock to the annual Godwit Days every April in Arcata, CA. The Godwit Days is held at the peak of the spring migration season. Birders who attend have the best opportunity to see a variety of waterfowl, landfowl and shorebirds around. Special opportunities are planned during the event to see exotic species like the Marbled Murrelet, Spotted Owl, and Snowy Plover.
The Godwit Days offers over 100 field trips across Humboldt County.
